How do I add new terms in LaMP?

As the Tisane databases are built around concepts, the terms have two components:

  • Concepts themselves, called families in Tisane. Families are nodes with numeric identifiers, aligned across languages. Families may have connections to other families, such as domains (areas of knowledge to which the family belong), super-concepts (hypernyms), or sub-concepts (hyponyms).
  • Lexemes linked to the families.

A word-sense is essentially a link between a family and a lexeme.

To link an existing lexeme to an existing family:

  1. Navigate to the Knowledge Graph
  2. Locate the family you need to modify by using a family ID, a substring of the description, or a predefined range
  3. Click on the + button in the family definition white box
  4. Choose the lexeme you’d like to link by using a lexeme ID, a substring of the description, or a predefined range
